If you’ve never heard of me before…
My name is Philip Jeffreys and I’ve been breeding thoroughbreds since 1974.
In 1988 Stratford realtor and breeder Peter McDonald phoned me on the suggestion of a mutual friend to say that he’d just acquired a mare named Bonnie’s Delight. Could I suggest a suitable mating? All In Fun accordingly arrived in the Spring of 1989 and was followed by several other good winners bearing the the All In.. prefix.
Although I had been breeding thoroughbreds since 1974, these successes gave me the confidence to begin actively looking for clients. In 1996 I started making mating recommendations on a commercial basis. This first small crop of 10 foals included Bodie (G1), Ernest William (SW), Leroy Jones, Altimarloch, All In Grace and two minor winners. Since then, New Zealand 1000 Guineas winnner La Diosa, New Zealand and City of Auckland Cups winner Showcause, dual Group One placed Galileo’s Galaxy, consistent Group performer Tinseltown, top class miler Nashville and Showbeel have added to the list of significant results.
Early in 1997 I prepared the first issue of my K1 and K2 Filly Analysis, aimed at identifying value for money yearling fillies at our major sales. This has been pleasingly successful: the 1997 edition selected Showella as the standout K1 lot and subsequent issues have identified many other fillies which have since increased their value significantly. In recent years analyses of all sales have been available to clients. Clients have used these analyses to purchase SW Durham Town, Brown Eyed Grace, Focal Point, Star Affair, Superjet, Emily Margaret and SP Rikki Tikki Tavi, Candle in the Wind, Align to Infinity, Browne Sugar, Shamabelle, Special Draw and Hot Fuss.
Recently I have expanded my own breeding activities and have had some success with SW La Nouvelle Vague, SP Comanche Gold, Rising Tide, The Jungle Boy and the promising Riveria Rebel.
Another activity I’m involved in is recommending the purchase of stock of all ages. The star performer in this area is the Group 1 winner Surprize Surprize.
All in I’ve been involved in the production of 319 winners of 1056 races worldwide, including 34 SW of 70 black-type contests and 29 SP performers.
If I can be of any help in your thoroughbred ventures please do not hesitate to give me a call. (06 3293633-a/h-or send an email here).
